You like the look of our reclaimed wooden, handpainted signs but can't find the right wording in our collection? No worries, you can create your own here. Just select your preferred size, colour combination and enter your words. We recommend only a short sentence on these signs otherwise they will look overcrowded and the texture of the wood may interfere with the lettering.
We reuse old pallet wood and turn them into gorgeous rustic signs. They are hand cut, de-nailed and heavily sanded. Markings, cracks and nail holes are to be expected in these signs. Please bear this in mind when ordering, as the lettering added to your sign can have holes through the middle of it. I try to avoid where possible but with the reclaimed wood I use, the majority of pieces have holes and markings. For me, this is such a wonderful way to add character to your sign. It really is one of a kind. They are then primed and painted using Eco-Friendly paints by Little Greene and Farrow & Ball.
I will put some designs together and send you a digital proof or you to approve via email. This proof will give you an idea of layout and fonts only. It cannot show you the actual wood being used for your sign. Choose your favourite or guide me some more - there are no hidden charges for changes you want to make. I will start making your sign as soon as you are happy with the design.
Please allow up to 5 days to receive your design layouts via email (up to 10 during busy periods - usually Oct, Nov,Dec). Then allow the production time stated to receive your order.
There are various hanging options, such as chunky rope, rusty wire, sawtooth hangers on the back, stakes, or no fixings at all. These signs can be placed outside if we add a sealant to them. Imperfections are to be expected in our products, such as nail holes, cracks and dings. We love the texture and character this brings, and hope you do too.

So happy with our new signs!!
Just as I asked for, given choice of 4 fonts all of which would have suited the look I wanted.
I love my garden sign. I asked if it was possible to have one of two images on it - a squirrel or a nut - (which were not shown online) and on the draft images they put both together for me - a squirrel holding a nut. Love it. Thank you!
I wanted a sign for my grandchildrens bug hotel.
What I got was a beautiful and unique piece of art.
Really appreciated the customer friendly communication and prompt service as well
Don’t even think about not getting your signs from here!
Great product, just as described.
I had this bespoke sign made for Mother’s Day. Emma was able to add some final touches to make it truly unique...and my mum loved it!
Absolutely love the sign I ordered for my friend, great customer service and would 100% recommend
We ordered a sign for our friends who are going to have a summer house in their garden. It was the first time we had used the Imperfect Wood Company and we were so impressed by how helpful and efficient they were in both providing ideas for its design the speed of delivery, and the quality of the sign was excellent. I would definitely recommend them.
Great communication and delivery! We love our outside pad plaque! Very well crafted wood and the colours are just perfect! would recommend to friends and family. Thank you.
Love, love, love my new sign which is hanging on the kitchen door. I saw this quote some while ago after I had royally unintentionally offended a headteacher. I am well known by anyone who knows me for my little problem of 'putting my foot in my mouth' ( in fact my husband says I just take one foot out to put the other in). Emma has done a brilliant job at a great price. It was very easy to order and the selection of fonts so hard to choose between. So thank you Emma for a great job.
